Pierogi was able to slide by for a few weeks before he got his first bath, but Gilfoyle wasn't so lucky. He was a stinky little fellow when he came home (nothing alarming), but he needed his potbelly scrubbed! So on our first night as a family of four, we filled up our tub and in went the boys...
Gilly was up first!
He was a little surprised, but overall a good sport!
He sort of just stood in place and glared at us :)
And while Mike did the heavy lifting, Gilly got to enjoy a steady stream of treats as he got used to the whole bath thing.
That little face! So unamused.
Big Brother was long overdue for a bath, so he went next! But there's a reason why Big Brother was long overdue...he's not the biggest bath guy. As much as we tried to make baths a fun experience when he was younger, he never warmed up to them. So, baths are still a work in progress for Pierogi, which is okay by us! :)
After their baths, they both did a big shake, ran back to their toys and everything was forgiven (I think...)
Here's a throwback of Pierogi after his very first bath (almost a year ago). I remember being so nervous about giving him a bath. Mike and I had looked up every detail of the ideal doggie bath - what the water temperature should be, how to wash Boston Terrier ears, what kind of soap to use and how to dry him off at the end. #firsttimedogparentsmuch
What's your dog's first bath story? We'd love to hear!
