Whether you're headed somewhere for Thanksgiving or hosting your own turkey dinner, don't forget about a dish for the dogs to pass! Keep reading for tips on assembling a Thanksgiving Turkey Leg Treat Favor...
To make a Thanksgiving Turkey Leg Treat Favor, you'll need:
- A large handful of dog treats
- A large clear favor bag
- String or twist tie to close the favor bag
- Clear tape
- Long bully stick
- A large turkey leg colored bandana or scrap of fabric cut into a triangle
- Ribbon to decorate
Begin by filling the favor bag with treats (we used these). This will become the bulk of the "turkey leg". Close the bag with string. To create a more full look, allow some air to fill the bag. Then, round out the bottom corners of the bag with a piece of tape on each corner.
Next, lay out the bandana with the top triangle point, pointing towards you. Lay the favor bag at the top triangle point. Then, place the bully stick slightly underneath the favor bag.
Begin wrapping up the bandana from the bottom. Bring the two sides towards the center and focus on creating a nice round base to mimic a plump turkey leg!
Twist the rest of the sides around and tie together to secure. Knot off one more time to hide the ends of the knot.
Finish with a bow and serve!
There's no definitive right way to assemble the "turkey leg". I assembled ours a few times and it came out different every time. So aim for whatever leg shape you think looks best!
