Earlier this month, the four of us went to Saint Louis. It was Mike and my's fourth trip to the Gateway City and Pierogi and Gilly's first. Here's some photos from our trip, if you'd like to see...
The boys' itinerary for Saint Louis was originally much different. We had initially planned for them to stay back, but when plans changed for the better, we all piled into our car for the five hour drive. Pierogi had already proven to himself to be a road trip champ, but we were still a little worried about Gilly.
He did great! I sat in the backseat with the little dudes and this was my view for almost the entire ride. Of course, we made sure to take constant pit stops - including a stop-off at our alma mater. (It's still as dazzling as we remembered it to be :)
When we finally got closer to the city, and the Arch came into sight, Pierogi perked up to take in the view. Saint Louis must have smelled different to him ;)
We arrived just before dusk on our first night. So, we checked-in at this dog friendly hotel (which is conveniently located next to an open plaza), took a few-block-walk, lounged around and then went out for a late snack at Ted Drewes. No Pup Cups were involved, but Mike and I did enjoy some insanely good custard.
The next morning, we all donned our best red and white and headed down by the Arch. The boys were still a little tired and were starting to...dog it...and asked for a lift.
So, we hopped in a bicycle taxi! The Arch was actually under construction and we couldn't get too close, but our favorite team happened to be hanging out nearby... We sure love our school!
After wishing our team well, we continued on to City Garden - which is a sculpture park and one of Mike and I's favorite spots.
The weather was beautiful on that day and we took our sweet time as we made our way through the park.
This bunny (that's a part of a pair) and a full statue of a pink suit are my favorite displays in the park.
When we had had our fill of fresh air, we made one last stop at Four Muddy Paws, a nearby dog boutique. There, we met a few local dogs and grabbed a souvenir (a plush squeaky bone with a Saint Louis embellishment). Then, it was time for Mike and I to get to the basketball tournament - the reason that we came to Saint Louis! We won big all weekend, but couldn't quite seal the deal in the last game. So, we packed our bags and left with heavy hearts, but more love and pride for our school than ever before.
See ya again soon, Saint Louis!
Ps. Have you ever been to STL? Care to share any hidden gems? :)
Woof! (Hey, there!) Pierogi, Gilly and Sarah here. Thanks for stopping by our dog blog. We're a little dog-obsessed around here and Pierogi & Co. is all about inspiring you to enjoy the dog days. Because life's more fun with your best (furry) friend by your side. So grab a bone and follow along as we stop to sniff the flowers...
