Oh my dog! Pierogi and Gilly are still wiped out from our outing to Miller Park! On Tuesday afternoon, we drove up to Milwaukee catch the Milwaukee Brewers play the San Francisco Giants, and to bark with what seemed to be, a few hundred other dogs. We arrived to the Park the perfect time -- just before the Dog Parade started, so we hopped right into the action and didn't slow down until we crashed at the end of the night. Here's some photos from the game, if you'd like to see...
The Dog Parade consisted of a full lap around the baseball field, which is by far one of the coolest things that we've ever experienced together. As we made our way around the field, Pierogi and Gilly sniffed the red dirt and other dogs in spiritwear, and Mike and I imagined what it would be like to chew bubblegum as a player in the dugout. Everywhere, the air buzzed with excitement: fans posed with their dogs for every hilarious photo imaginable (catching your dog in the outfield was a popular pose), doggies wagged their tails for the big screen and a few players even popped out of their dugouts to give out belly rubs.
How cute are these dogs?!
Between the parade and baseball game, we had some time to spare, so we sat outside for a water break and to chat with other dog families. Then at last, it was our turn to head in and so we all went through the metal detectors (Gilly kept holding us up because he forgot to take his watch off ;) and up the ramp to a completely transformed right field concourse!
The special area for dogs was awesome and the Brewers had thought of everything. There was a real grass potty area, a row of photo shoot opportunities, plenty of water stations, a dog-themed merchandise stand and a Snapchat filter. Plus, the Brewers handed out collapsible water bowls and goody bags to take home!
Here we are in our seats! We sat comfortably in the right field bleachers on the Loge Level along with the other dogs in attendance.
After a few exciting innings, we took a break to grab concessions. I went for beef barbacoa tacos and Mike enjoyed a loaded burger. Pierogi and Gilly pulled out a few treats from their goody bags.
Every so often, we got up to stretch our legs and mingle. We met three senior Bostons and SO many other cute dogs. Every dog family is unique and we always love to swap stories. One family shared their trick for stopping reverse sneezing (gently cover your dog's nostrils); we related to another family over our dogs eating ants (Gilly!); and the cutest little girl came over to dance with Pierogi ("Can I dance with your dog?" "Sure, he'd love to dance with you!").
Eventually, the night came to an end. The Brewers had won and Pierogi and Gilly were exhausted. (The snores started as soon as they got to the car!) We made a quick stop for frozen custard and then we headed home...
Woof! (Hey, there!) Pierogi, Gilly and Sarah here. Thanks for stopping by our dog blog. We're a little dog-obsessed around here and Pierogi & Co. is all about inspiring you to enjoy the dog days. Because life's more fun with your best (furry) friend by your side. So grab a bone and follow along as we stop to sniff the flowers...
