Our next Mother's Day Gift Idea shows you how to create a charming Doggie Jewelry Dish. This DIY only takes three (!) steps, but the end result is pretty, pretty fancy! (Larry David, anyone?)
To DIY a Doggie Jewelry Dish, you'll need:
- Grass mat (similar)
- Shallow ceramic dish
- Toy dog figurines
- Hot glue gun
- Xacto knife
- Any color quick-dry spray paint that's meant for plastic projects
Begin by creating the jewelry dish base. Flip the grass sheet over, place your ceramic dish down and firmly trace the perimeter of the bottom of the dish with the Xacto knife.
The grass should lay flat on the inside of the dish. Make any necessary adjustment cuts with scissors.
Spray paint a toy dog figurine. We went with a shiny silver color and only applied one coat, but you may need more than one coat - especially if you use a lighter colored spray paint.
Finally, secure the grass and figurine in place with hot glue. Apply a generous amount of hot glue throughout the underside of the grass and a generous dot of glue under each paw of the figurine.
Bow wow, right?! It seems that jewelry and trinket dishes are everywhere right now, but I've never seen one like this! :) Also, I'm big on trinket and catchall dishes in general, so I'm always collecting the little trays. It's an easy way to give in-transit things a space or to just display pretty pieces - like jewelry.
This little guy has the perfect tail for holding rings :)
Who would you give this glam piece to?
