It all started with this store...
Daiso Japan, "often called 'the Japanese dollar store,' but [its] cute, 'kawaii' designs and unique kind of value simply cannot be compared to other dollar stores". That's where I found the paw print cookie cutter, a few of the snacks above and so many other unnecessary, but painfully cute things that I wish we had room for in our luggage. My mom was so excited to introduce me to the store and I instantly realized why. Daiso features row after tidy row of everything from stationery to bento box accessories to snacks to pet supplies! I was in heaven.
From there, we continued to do some Japanese shopping at a few other places around Orange County. That blue pouch with the doggie is a little crossbody coin purse and the cute Frenchie keychains (or Bostons is you squint) on the magazine are key caps. And that retro dog magazine! My mom found that gem and it's full of designer dog clothes and accessories all modeled by what must be some of the most fabulous dogs ever ;)
Have you ever walked through a Daiso store?
