Today, we're sharing an easy frozen treat that both dogs and humans can enjoy this weekend. To make a batch of heart pops, you'll need: a heart silicone mold (stars would also be fun), water, fresh strawberries, Greek yogurt and fresh blueberries.
To achieve the layers, we worked in frozen stages. First, pour a thin layer of water into each heart and freeze completely. Meanwhile, puree a few large handfuls of strawberries without their tops. Then pour the strawberry mixture into the hearts and again, freeze completely. Add the Greek yogurt layer to the hearts, but this time only partially freeze. Meanwhile, gently smash a handful of blueberries (the back of a spoon works well) for the final layer of the pops. Gently press the smashed blueberries into the yogurt layer and freeze completely to finish. Pop your hearts out of the mold and enjoy!
To make the pops easier for humans to enjoy, allow the pops to slightly thaw and then slide in popsicle sticks and refreeze.
Our resident taste tester highly recommends the pops!
A little mess never hurt :)
