After spending a year with Pierogi, I thought I had him figured out. He loves long walks, sunbathing and belly rubs from strangers; and he hates bananas (raw form only - treats are okay), being the last one to sleep in and leaving the dog park.
Then, Gilfolye joined our family and I assumed that he would more or less be a clone of Pierogi - that he would also enjoy long walks, but hate bananas. Wrong! Gilly is Pierogi's other half (and we love him so for that :). The half that doesn't get into long walks, is indifferent about sunbathing and shies away from strangers; he'll gladly accept the bottom part of your banana, is always the first to stir in the morning and plays within earshot at the dog park.
Realizing each difference between Pierogi and Gilly always surprised us, but the one that surprised us the most: Gilly's lack of enthusiasm for walks. Sure, he'll go for the walk, but he'd rather not. He'd rather us turn around after a block and march our paws back home. He doesn't mind activity, but his version involves teetering around our backyard with Pierogi, tagging along with his squad at the dog park, or better yet, plopping down right where he is!
So, we'd love to know...does your dog enjoy being active? Is your dog more of the "let's walk until the sun goes down" or "let's turn around" type?
