Here's how we celebrated little Gilly's birthday yesterday...
For Pierogi's first birthday, we treated him to a few doggie sweets and a new toy. It went over well, so we decided to do the same for Gilly. We picked up the cookies and woof-ie pie from the same place where we recently enjoyed ice cream sundaes. Paws down, they have one of the best bakery selections for pups that we've ever seen. And I couldn't get enough of the squirrel cookies! Gilly goes WILD over squirrels, so I thought they were funny.
We also picked out this oversized tennis ball. Pierogi is indifferent about ball toys, but Gilly loves them. We had wanted to let Gilly break out his new ball at the dog park, but we waited too long and it began to rain :(
So, we laid Gilly's surprise out and then cheered for him to come over. He had the sweetest reaction to our excitement. He walked quickly, but cautiously over to the treats, but then debated whether he should wait for our "okay". So, he promptly sat down and looked up at us for the "okay". Of course, we cheered "okay, okay!" and he sniffed the giant tennis ball and then went for the woof-ie pie.
He knew exactly what to do!
Then, when Gilly had had his fill of treats, we called in the cutest backup we knew to help devour what was left...
It's a good day when you have left over food in your whiskers! Hope it was a good birthday, pal.
