A Pierogi & Co. series about the awesome stories behind our best friends' names.
Burger and Bacon are seven year old littermates who reside in California. They enjoy family time, lizard tracking and have mouthwatering names...
What's your family like?
Our family is Burger and Bacon, and their two humans, Amber and Jonathan. We like to spend our time at home in Santa Monica or Bishop, California. We feel like it’s the best of both worlds. We get all the pleasures of beachside city life (so we’re great sitting outside at restaurants) and the slower pace of being in the great outdoors (prime lizard tracking time).
And Burger and Bacon, what are they like?
Burger is a laid back social butterfly. At a dog park his number one priority is to say hello to every single human and ham it up for as much attention as possible. He’s an excellent coffee shop companion and will amiably and politely accompany me anywhere (for a few treats). Bacon is our energetic little athlete. Ball rules everything but he also adores lizard tracking when we’re outside the city. When he’s not joyfully racing around he insists upon being curled up under a blanket, preferably with just his nose out, snorkeling for fresh air.
What are their full names?
Burger/Burgdorf Snuggleman and Bacon/Bacornealius J. Stinklebottom
Does Burger have any nicknames?
Innumerable nicknames: Mocha, Berber Carpet, Poo Bear, Big Poopa, Burgadurga, Mochalicious, Burgadocious...
How about Bacon?
Bacontino, Baconcito, Pippen, Keepee, Pecan, Babyman, Stinklet, Turdy, Littleman...
Okay, so what's the story behind their names?
We have a strong family history of pets (mostly dogs) with food names that goes back more than 60 years. A few favorites include Taffy, Peaches, Pretzels, Potato Chip, and Pickles. Tasty meat names sounded like a good choice for two boisterous brothers, and who doesn’t love a little alliteration?
Finally, tell us about the photo above.
It was taken during a beautiful sunset nature walk beside the Owens River in Bishop, California. Bishop is a special place to us where we get to escape the hustle of city life and enjoy all the amazing sights and smells of nature.
Thank you so much @burgerandbaconruletheworld! Keep up the cuteness!
