I've really been into the hanging banner (I've seen this one featured in several interior home spreads) and pennant decorations (I like this one) that have been popular lately. They're such simple, yet fun decorations that can work nearly anywhere in the home. Today, we're sharing our DIY take on a banner that would be perfect for any dog lover...
This DIY is so simple and you may already have everything needed. We did!
You'll only need three things:
- A pretty tea towel, like this fancy dog (found here)
- A thin wooden dowel (ours measured 3/16" x 11 7/8", similar size)
- About 30" of string, ribbon or twine of your choice (similar gold cord)
To start, iron out any creases in your tea towel. Then, fold the sides of the towel in to a width of about two inches less than the length of the dowel - this is to leave room to tie the string.
Finally, fold your towel in half over the dowel and then tie string off of each end of the dowel.
How fabulous is this fancy dog? I didn't realize that it was a part of a set and probably would have gone for all of them :) This proper bulldog and poodle set is also great. I think a collection of these banners would look cute in a kitchen or dining room. What do you think? Let us know below!
